The Bank of England was a basic old corner pub that still had its Chesters signs outside.
Once inside i had a drink in the bar which was very basic, there may have been other rooms but i did'nt look, this pub used to be a Whitbread tied house and there were two real ales on the bar i had a drink of Chesters mild and this was a very nice drink the other beer was Whitbread Trophy bitter.
This pub is still standing and it may have recently reopened, which is good news for this area of ancoats.
