Just a quick pint, then I'm off left this review about Auld Shillelagh

Famous Irish pub with a very narrow frontage and a dark, slightly split-level, wood-panelled interior stretching back some way, so more seating inside than one might expect. Decorated throughout with all the expected paraphernalia from the Emerald Isle. No cask ale, but a very local Macintosh Pale Ale (£6.50), a 'house' Pilsner from Pillars Brewery and - if I counted correctly - nine Guinness taps...

Very long and narrow as previously described, dark fielded paneling throughout gives a pleasant very pubby feel, unfortunately there are also TV screens throughout, very busy, in fact packed on my ill timed visit during a six nations rugby game. No cask beer here, Guinness is very much king and indeed was being poured in advance of orders, a couple of lagers and luckily for me the newly discovered Macintosh Pale Ale was on.The pub is certainly worth a look but maybe pick a quieter time.

Extremely narrow Irish pub which then extends back a long way before arriving at a walled beer garden with a retractable awning. There is enough room for a small circular table in the front window, then the bar with insufficient room to drink there vertically,so you drift naturally towards the rear. It's all very traditional with wood panelling, fireplaces, some mixed traditional furniture and a flatscreen with the racing on mute, together with gentle muzzak.I suppose an Irish pub would have no interest in an English team Test match. The Irish theme is strong throughout.
Naturally no real ale,and I swerved the pasturised and keg stout Guiness because I much prefer proper ale based stout.I opted for Open Gate Citra IPA ,half £3.30 too cold and tasteless.
Go in and have a look but expect to be disappointed on the beer front.I can see no reason to return.
