Steve of N21 left this review about The Maze Inn
Formerly known as The Merryhills, when it was a rough and ready sort of place and home to hardened drinkers and unsocial elements. But then in around 2007 it was taken over, had a complete refurb, and was relaunched as a restaurant / bar called the A 'Maze' Inn (get it !).
Well I went in there a couple of times and didn't find it any where amazing, but then I was /am 30 years older than the target demographic and not interested in drinking sugary alcoholic coctails.
But the Enfield and surrounds yoof were interested for a time and it was very popular until the novelty wore off, and for the last few years its struggled, despite several attempts to theme it either as a more up market restaurant or different bar set up(I remember a bunny girl theme being tried at one time).
It allegely had a strict over 21's policy, however was the favourite haunt for my 18 year old daughter and her mates for a period, so that should give an idea to what it was like on a Saturday night.
Went past it yesterday and it looks like it may have lost the fight for good, as it is currently being bulldozed to the ground.
Have to keep an eye on the local paper to see whats going to be put there in its place, but my money is on more housing..
