Visited 22/12/25. Visited previously 05/10/20.

Four hand pumps, two with the clips turned round for GK IPA and Abbot, the other two providing their own, The Bull Highgate, Pale Ale and Old Golden Hen. The keg offering was Guinness, Estrella Galicia, Asahi, Pravha, Sanford Orchards Devon Red cider, Jubel Peach, Staro, Everyday Pale Ale from Jiddler's Tipple and the Keep it Lite Pale Ale from Local Beer Brewery.

There is a fair-sized raised patio out the front with regular patio seating arrays, but not in play on a damp but very mild start of Xmas week. Inside the venue is U shaped, bare boarded with the bar counter on the wall opposite the entrance. There is tall stool seating more densely packed along the relatively short length of the bar counter. The left-hand side has several tables very festively laid for diners but out of bounds to drinkers, the end of which was the open kitchen servery. There were a couple of regular tables in the windows opposite the bar counter, the larger occupied by a raucous work Xmas lunch group, and the other smaller one by a small quiet group. The is a semi-circular light brown studded leather banquette in the front right-hand corner and a solitary tall table at the right most end of the bar counter. There might well be some upstairs seating as I spotted a stone spiral staircase on my way to the gents but did not investigate.

Largely as described below, I've only been in here once before about 6 years ago with no joy. The music was loud and the barman couldn't speak English. It now seems much improved with a friendly barmaid who could speak English and a wide selection of ales, most if not all from the on-site London Brewing Co: Beer Street, American Amber, Stateside Pacific Ale, Highrise Pale Ale, a blank clip and Never Mind The Kent Hops. Price forgotten it was probably high though my half was good. Unfortunately it was served in a wine glass.
This is a good pub despite the slightly corporate gastropub feel and beer served in wine glasses. Worth a visit.

Date of visit: 15th May 2025.

This pub in some form seems to date from the mid-18th century. It was acquired by the Metropolitan Pub Co. (GK) in 2022, so the Gorgeous Brewery is no more.
Given the branding, it was no surprise that alongside the pseudo craft, there was a reversed Landlord clip then Abbott; unsurprisingly, we didn’t bother staying.
Another nail in the Highgate pub scene’s coffin.

Brewhouse and tap for the Gorgeous Brewery ,the pub has a large front terrace and an open plan interior with two wings either side of the front door, with the left side having an open kitchen at the rear while the right side has the bar,two curved banquettes and a table in a bay window and felt more like the drinking area. There is an upstairs function room which was hosting a noisy childrens party on my Saturday afternoon visit.Food doesn't dominate, while the 6 handpumps were drawing Gorgeous Gravedigger (decent vanilla stout 5% £4),Glowfly,Geek Hunter and Greedy Guts with 2 pumps unused. There are also 10 keg taps split over two ends of the bar with some national brands but also some respected craft keg.The flatscreen were off ,and the pub atmosphere would tempt another visit if I wanted to tick off some Gorgeous brews but I found the pub functional without being exceptional.
