The Royal Charlie is a basic local boozer with an exterior that led me to believe it had been closed for a number of years. When I saw the front door open I expected to pop my head in to find workmen with sledgehammers, but to my surprise there were two regulars playing on a pool table. On the right wall was a dartboard and further up was a bar lined with standard draught fonts. I counted three gaming machines and there was some background music playing. A projector screen hung on the left hand wall and live sport was advertised. A sign by the front door states that there is no admission after 22:00, which would suggest that this pub closes at normal hours.
I saw nothing in here that would have me rushing back.
