Cask consisted of three handpumps offering Original and the lone wolf offering Special. Keg a typical offering for a Youngs pub of Asahi, Camden Hells, Jubel Peach, Neck Oil, Estrella, Pravha, Aspall cider, Guinness, Peroni, Deya Steady Rolling Man.
This is a typical South London large Youngs pub (albeit there are many that are larger). The venue is somewhat asymmetric U shaped with the left-hand side stretching much further back than the right-hand side. The bar counter is a similar U-shaped entity in the front middle part of the pub, wooden panelled and fitting in with the wooden nature of this place. Indeed, the flooring is fully bare boarded throughout. Seating is via the usual mix for Youngs establishments including a fair share of banquettes in parts of the perimeter and wingback leather armchairs etc. Dining seemed to be concentrated in the back left part of the pub where there were signs suggesting there was a rear garden. Indeed, there is a patio area out the front but obviously everyone here was inside this evening and generally in the evenings this time of the year still. Over on the right-hand side of the pub were some nice seating options around a fire blazing away in the grate on the right-hand wall. Not a destination but worthy of a stop if in the vicinity.

This is a mid-19th century pub, which still exhibits some green banded Charrington’s glass.
The interior was subject to a substantial makeover in 2017, though the previous review largely applies. It has been comprehensively gastrofied in here, with a very contemporary interior featuring a modern floor, Farrow & Ball colour scheme, green glazed tiling, zoned contemporary furniture and fluted glass lamp shades. The rear is largely geared towards dining and here there’s a plate glass window which looks out over a substantial, landscaped garden. There are bored games, trendy framed prints though at least there’s a log fire. Customers included families with their progeny or young professional types; there’s a vast gulf between execution and demography here compared to the Orchard up the road and certainly for the better.
Ales amounted to two unused pumps, then Original or Special at £2.65 a half.
There’s very little to recommend this borough pub-wise, but this is one of the better establishments.

Just a quick pint, then I'm off left this review about The Eagle
Refurbished by Geronimo since my last (pre-takeover) visit. The partly opened-out interior leaves an overall reversed 'J' shape, with a two-part bar and a dining area to the rear. Usual mix of semi-modern furniture and gastro-pub decor. Unintrusive background music on a fairly busy Friday evening. Young's Ordinary and Wooden Spoon, LBF Chelsea Blonde and Wimbledon Common (£4.10) available from the four handpumps this time. However, from previous experience, the main attraction is the substantial patio beer garden to the rear. This has a few tables at the higher level, but most of the seating is located around a small green (with the occasional 'Baby Eagle' bar housed in a small brick building to one side). All a bit overdone in terms of modern outdoor furniture and wacky decor, but undoubtedly a nice spot in good weather.
