Visited 10/09/25. Visited previously as the Pocket Watch on 11/03/25.

Two pumps dispensing Brakspear Oxford Gold. Keg offering of K1664, Deya Publican IPA, Publican lager, Brooklyn Pilsner, Aspall.

Super busy on a mid-evening visit in its new guise. Barely 6 months since here in previous ownership and almost zero physical appearance change but chalk and cheese in terms of crowd and vibe, which felt pretty Cotswold set. Not repeating my description below but would probably notch the venue up a tad based on my excellent pint of Brakspear, albeit would be great if there was a couple of additional cask choices.

No cask. Two handpumps, one with an unknown clip turned around and the other with a clip for Brakspear Gravity turned around. Keg offering of Moretti, Camden Pale Ale, Madri, Cruz, Brixton Reliance Pale Ale, Stowford Press cider, Guinness and Amstel.

This is a longish rectangular pub with a corner entrance from the narrow side on the main and busy Uxbridge Rd. It is bare boarded throughout with the basic wood bar counter against the left-hand wall about mid venue. There is a light red leather banquette around the front window and generally a mix of regular and tall tables in the front part of the venue. The rear part also has some of the same banquettes and generally regular tables. Nothing very remarkable about this venue. The TV was switched off, and a low-key music soundtrack was in play. Bar staff were very pleasant.

This is a late Victorian corner pub, known by its original name of the British Queen until 2015.
The interior is marked by black wainscoting, then bare brick walls and an otherwise industrial interior, with fairly conventional furniture (see website). There were no customers shortly after my arrival, two leaving as I entered and hopefully not because of. The website doesn’t give any details other than opening times, though I overheard one barmaid agreeing with another that they’d unilaterally shut at 10.00 pm.
Despite being a Brakspear’s house, they don’t have enough faith in their customers to stock any real ale, with just one unused pump then one for Gravity, reversed. I opted for a half of London Fields Hackney Hopster, which was just another dull keg fizz at £3.10, served by an understandably bored barmaid.
This is a bit of a sad place, which if I lived locally, wouldn’t use.
