A smart looking little pub but as expected very much food led, cask beers were Timothy Taylor Landlord, Portobello Star and a House beer called Bloom. The pub itself is ok but the nature of its business wouldn't lend itself for a prolonged stay, unless of course eating.

A smart and pleasant pub in the backstreets, with some friendly staff. There is one main room across the front, with a small restaurant area up a few steps and a canopied patio area out the front. Generally it has an open, modern feel although there are a few nice traditional touches including a splendid mirror. Just TT Landlord and the Greene King house beer on at time of visit, but some other ales were promised from the likes of Portobello.

Situated opposite a police station, this is an attractive Victorian backstreet locals' pub with a raised front beer patio, heaters and hanging baskets for flowers which I first visited around 17 years ago and immediately noticed that the bar area has been completely rebuilt and the lavatories are now decent; a big improvement.
The interior is a mix of simple original and contemporary traditional with a raised area to the rear. Furniture is basic pale wood as is the new bar. The left-hand wall features a large photo of the pub in the late 19th century/early 20th century. Naturally, there's food and I have actually eaten here a couple of times and it's very good but not the cheapest; a typical three-course meat-based meal will set you back around £38, seating is wherever you can get a table.
Service is a little relaxed but generally fine with four ales: GK IPA, Sambrook's Wandle, Hogsback T.E.A and Twickenham's Spring Ale which was very good and at £4.45 a pint, a steal for this area.
W11 isn't a hotbed of good pubs, but this is certainly the joint best.
