A proper pub-type pub, albeit a Greene King corporate offering. They have gone a bit over the top with the green paint (literally, including the ceilings) but it is tidy enough and quite large. A slightly jarring note was the conversion of all but the main entrance into fire doors, which didn't feel right somehow. The usual pubby sort of entertainments are advertised: Sport, live music, quiz etc., which implies it has a local following. Just Green King beers: IPA, Old Speckled Hen, London Glory and Yardbird.

Dating from the end of the 17th century as the Packhorse, this version was rebuilt by Watney’s in 1935, the extinct dog suffix added I know not when.
There’s something of a rambling interior with a pale modern boarded floor, then an abundance of field panelling, all – including the Anaglypta ceiling – painted a sickly shade of blue/green, a little bare brick breaking up the effect, the interior brightly lit, aided by at least one games machine and a multitude of TVs, the MCI v. RMA match watched by a rapturous crowd, including one or two women, but an otherwise young laddish customer base.
Ales offered amounted to GK IPA, GK Coronation Ale, Landlord ‘Coming Soon’, me going for a Neck Oil, price forgotten.
Chiswick High Road is hardly a hotbed of quality pubs, this being one of the less appealing, the George IV being next door.

Not a pub I would use regularly but they have 4 beers usually from regional brewers.My Adnam,s was okay.
