Originally the Mitre Inn, this dates from the mid-19th century, though I suspect that this has been rebuilt sometime later.
With a function room to the rear and 16 hotel rooms upstairs, this pub isn’t so much long, rather it’s a wide crescent shape. Internally nothing original remains, with a modern boarded floor and a white/cream colour scheme, with mixed seemingly all tall furniture, games machine and umpteen TVs showing the football with the sound off, affording the customer full enjoyment of the banal soundtrack, borrowed from the McDonald’s school of musical entertainment. There are a few framed prints by way of token décor and lighting is modern, with customers seemingly somewhat transient and unimaginative, perhaps residing in the upstairs rooms.
There’s no real ale here, not even pumps, me plumping for a half of Kronenbourg at £2.60, served by a perfunctory barmaid.
This was the worst of my seven-pub mini crawl; the vastly superior Antelope is a hundred yards up the road.
Rated 3.5.

Long Room by name and long room in fact, nothing other than that particularly remarkable about it. Most tables had menus on with a choice of pub grub standards but also a fairly extensive Thai food selection. Three pumps with two on, Sambrooks Scrumdown and Little Beer Corporation Little Vienna, the latter being decent enough at £ 4.20 a pint. The pub is nothing special but Ok.

This pub which I thought was called the Mitre is an unusual shape so I can see where the Long Room name comes from.Busy on a Friday night with a band on.Nice change to hear decent music in a pub.2 locales from Sambrookes -Wandle and Junction which was decent.Nice locals pub.
