Tris C left this review about Gorringe Park
The Italianate Gorringe Park Hotel as was, dates from the late 19th century, named after a former part of north Mitcham and located a few yards down from Tooting overground and now a Charles Wells/Yummy Pubs buddy movie.
J-shaped, L-shaped or the more exotic ‘snorkel’, take your pick as they still describe the interior layout which sports one or two booth-style nooks to the rear. The floor is either bare boarded or tiled, then grey wainscoting, royal blue walls and white ceiling; the bar front and gantry are modern and clad with planks (see photo). There’s at least one games machine and a TV showing nothing but a PowerPoint presentation of up-and-coming events, such as the quiz or Euros. Furniture is quite conventional, but to the front there’s tall stuff with tubular steel stools with hammock leather upholstery and all to a Taylor Swift (or similar) soundtrack. Customers amounted to only four young troopers, a sorry sight for a Saturday at just gone 9.30pm, the place completely lacking in ambience.
There are two pumps, but cask has recently been withdrawn, so it was another Neck Oil, £3.40, served by a monosyllabic east European barmaid, looking bored and who can blame her.
With the demise of the nearby Railway Bell, pickings are thin in the immediate vicinity; the Gorringe is the only fruit.

Inverted L-shaped pub with the bar in the nick of the L. Seating at rear for diners. Three hand pumps, two weak, the other Directors which for once was quite passable. Seating outside which on a sunny day was quite pleasing. Not a bad pub at all.

Seven and a half years after the previous review this appears to have lost its 'two-room' division, being a rough snorkel shape, with the bar facing the London Road entrance, standard tables and chairs in both windows, taller seating to the right with a semi-dining area out the back to the right. Half-height wood panels, bare boards throughout, despite some carpeted bits in the window areas, hops strewn on the upper reaches of the walls, old portraits, photos and paintings on the left-hand wall and movie posters on the walls on the way down to the Gents. There looks to be some wood panelling in the dining area, albeit most of it is painted over. Three Young's beers (Bitter, Special and Winter Warmer) joined by Adnam's Ghost Ship (£2.55 for a half of the Warmer, offered in a dimpled mug). I wish I'd caught the previous reviewer's incarnation, but I guess what we have is progress of sorts as it was busy on a Sunday evening drop-in, despite the annoyance of some unruly small children running around.
