The Elephant and Castle is very close to Woolwich DLR station so when i noticed it i had to go in for a drink.
Once inside there is a single irregular shaped room with the bar facing,the seating is leather chairs and some tall tables and chairs,there is a pool table in a separate area to the left,the room is carpeted throughout.
I was surprised to see three real ales on the bar,i had a drink of Caledonian Flying Scotsman which went down very well,the other beers were Courage Best and Bombardier.
The pub was packed on my Saturday dinner visit with locals from the market and Charlton fans having a pre match drink.
Some pretty dire old style background music was playing.
This was a decent pub to start my Woolwich area pub crawl,but was far too busy with no seats available.

Cask Master left this review about The Elephant & Castle

Pub has recently been awarded Cask Marque accreditation and now serves up to Three cask ales at any one time. Normaly has Courage Best as it's regular beer plus two other guests. Beer quality varies, but staff always willing to change a duff pint. Opens at 8am as it still has a market license. Closes at around 8pm unless a match is being shown.
