As noted this is literally a stones throw from the Railway Tavern. Corner pub with a much more aesthetically pleasing interior than the RT, albeit smaller with no outside seating area. The soundtrack was more eclectic than the RT also. Inherently this was a nicer venue to sit and spend some time in. There is an attempt an art deco vibe.
Again strictly keg only but a smaller absolute number at 12 rather than 18 taps and a more beige range with four lagers (again the now almost ever present Cruzcampo), Guinness, Orchard Thieves cider and then the two obvious ones from Beavertown and Brixton. My choice was the Brixton Reliance Pale Ale.
Apologies I seem to be doing a direct weighing up the pros and cons of these Tulse Hill station neighbours rather than doing an outright review of this place! Ultimately they both end up at an average 5 as they both fail on the beer choices but each has redeeming features to be average only on the ratings front. If forced to choose this one would edge it as promotion material to the higher division of above average 6!

Done up in a new incarnation with a West Indian flavour, this smallish corner pub is painted a dark red inside with a large mural over the bar. There was some very good Jamaican music playing, not to mention a distinct aroma of fried chicken. No cask ales however, although there was a fair selection of Brixton craft stuff alongside the predictable Red Stripe.

Rough looking pub, lack of tables in the front area. Bare, uneven floorboards. Had a piano, which had a broken lid and leant backwards, either the back wheels were missing of the floor was giving way. Front area had only women and kids in, some of the women looked like the type of person you dare not cross. Back area had a pool table where a few men were playing. Only upside, the barmaid was friendly and poured a nice Guinness.
