Another tick box to complete venues in post code but also I regularly pass venue so was keen to pop in and have a look. It is essentially an African restaurant, quite busy on my early evening visit with diners. They do welcome drinkers also and I was made to feel very welcome. The music was great and they obviously have a DJ later when I would imagine the place would be rocking and vibrant.
Obviously noting remotely cask or craft, with usual drinks like Guinness, Heineken etc. I expected that anyway and so could hardly be disappointed.
Rating this place based on the drinks offering and not as a restaurant. The food smelled and looked delicious and if it weren’t for the fact that I am dining later then I would have indulged. Wonder if this is the longest gap between two reviews on the same place?

According to the sign on this pub it is called The Gem Bar although it still retains the Canterbury Arms sign.Serves African food as well as beer.
