Originally the Gloucester Hotel, this pub dates from the mid-19th century, but I suspect the existing structure is a rebuild, the current name dating from 2011.
The interior is broadly L-shaped, with not one trace of the original pub remaining and seemingly much changed since the previous review. There’s a modern boarded floor, smoky blue, pale grey and white colour scheme, shiny white tiled bar back, copper topped tables with bottles containing flowers, alongside tea lights and cutlery, chairs being modern restaurant-style, upholstered with either beige or teal vinyl. There’s hardly any décor apart from little pots containing ferns dotted about the place, lighting coming from hanging wire cages with matching sconces. On the plus side – yes, there is one – there’s no electronic entertainment, save for some smooth ambient sounds from the gramophone.
Three shiny chrome pumps were fixed to the bar top, two unused, then an enfeebled ale choice of just Adnams Mosaic and at an obscene £4.00 a half though decent, served by a friendly barman.
This is an unbelievably dull pub which in reality is a restaurant, albeit one with just one other customer on a Thursday evening, when the neighbouring Kings Arms was packed to the rafters; the laughable restaurant pricing for a beer is yet another reason not to return, this being the worst ‘pub’ in central Greenwich, the competition is hardly stiff.
In the course of reviewing SE10's pubs, I've passed this place on two further Thursdays, the first seeing it closed at 10.00pm, the third noting it as open at 9.00pm but closed with the lights out little more than 30 minutes later; I can't see this place surviving.

A good sized corner pub adjacent to Greenwich park and the maritime museum, it consists of a single L-shape room with additional outside seating. Staff seemed a little miserable, but being in such a prime tourist location it no doubt makes virtually all of it’s money from passing trade rather than regulars.
Décor wise it’s quite contemporary with dark wooden boards on the floor and a mixture of khaki green paintwork on the lower part of the walls and cream elsewhere, with some grey detailing on the woodwork and pillars. Some very large black and white arty photos adorned the walls. The outside seating consists of a courtyard garden at the rear and a number of picnic benches on two sides which was a pleasant spot to sit and watch the world go by.
Beers on this occasion were Project X, Truman’s Runner, Adnams Southwold and Adnam’s Ghost Ship. The solitary cider was Symonds Founder’s Reserve.
