The Beaufort Arms is situated on a small back street just off Whiteladies Road.
Once inside there is a single room which runs the width of the pub,the bar faces on entry and the room is bare boarded, there is a pool table to the right where there are normal tables and chairs, the left side has bench seating and chairs, there wood burning fire opposite the bar.
There were two real ales on the bar,i had a drink of St Austell Tribute which went down well while having a good chat with the landlady, the other beer was Moorhouses White Witch.
I thought this was a proper pub that i enjoyed having a drink in.

A great little pub that is tucked away in the side streets off of Blackboy Hill, it is quite a traditional and unspoilt pub and offers a welcome respite from the much busier and trendier places on the main road.
Internally it consists of one long room running along the front of the pub, although the changes in décor effectively divide it in to two halves. The left hand side contains the bulk of the seating whilst the right hand side opens out and contains a pool table and a plasma screen that was showing the rugby on a recent Saturday afternoon visit. The flooring was a mixture of some red lino type material and wooden boards whilst the ceiling in the seating half was again painted red whilst the other half had no ceiling at all – not beams like you get in many pubs, just the joists supporting the floor above. Exposed brick walling ran along much of the front of the pub which gave it a rustic atmosphere and there was also some wood panelling in places. A bookcase was in one corner and an old brick fire-place was at the front that had a few pots and pans hanging around it. A number of rugby photographs were up above the bar.
Beers on tap were Tribute and Otter Amber. Ciders seem to be the star attraction here though and on this occasion included Thatcher’s Traditional, Taunton Traditional, Thatcher’s Gold, Thatcher’s Dry and Blackthorn. All in all a great little pub and well worth making the effort to seek it out.
