A swift revisit as I was on my way back from a bit of local on-site consultancy. Same interior as I found back in 2020 except that the bottles are now super-expensive and the cask OBB has disappeared (which might explain the lack of custom). The barman was friendly enough but it feels like it’s sagging under the nuttiness of Humph. 5.5

Well it certainly looks like a Swiss Chalet which is a reason to visit in itself. Sited directly opposite the Tube station (exit 3), it suffers by having been enveloped by a huge and constantly busy traffic junction so approach is through a subway. A large, light wood, sodium-lit and gently worn interior lies within, with sone homely/twee touches but I always like a carpet, armchairs and curtains combo though surely there’s a missed opportunity to follow the exterior theme a bit more. Apparently there’s an upstairs room and a members bar but both appeared to be out-of-bounds on my visit. Cask OBB available here, though I plumped Oatmeal Stout. I quite enjoyed my half hour here, though my companion took against it. Rated 6.5

A bizarre pub which resembles a Swiss chalet situated on what essentially amounts to a huge traffic island flanked by four lanes of traffic *on each side*. To add to the charm, it's accessed by Swiss Cottage tube subway.

Once, back in the late 1980s I was refused entry as I wasn't wearing a tie! That demand certainly wouldn't be made today and having visited recently, I certainly can't see any reason to return.

Just a quick pint, then I'm off left this review about Ye Olde Swiss Cottage

A truly improbable landmark, with no need to provide a description of what the place looks like. The interior is all light wood-panelling, with a two-part bar and a side lounge. Separate lounge and gallery upstairs (not visited). Large patio area on three sides. As a Sam Smiths house, only OBB (£2.90) available on handpump. Very handy for the eponymous tube station.
