David Walton left this review about South End Green Social

Visited 18/08/25 as South End Green Social.

Cask was TT Golden Best plus a non-dispensing hand pump. Keg was Amstel, Clwb Tropica, Cruz, Moretti, Neck Oil, Inch's cider & Guinness. Little change from previous visit her 5 months ago in previous incarnation.

Internal description identical to previous write-up, furniture was less eclectic. Plus was there is now a cask ale available, and it was well kept so enjoyed venue more than previous visit, but hardly still a destination, with much better venues to spend your time at in this post code area.

David Walton left this review about South End Green Social

Visited 24/03/25 as the White Horse (or Cork & Bottle).

No cask. Basic keg range of Guinness, Neck Oil, Amstel, Brixton Reliance Pale Ale, Cruz, Moretti, Heineken and Inch's cider.

This used to be the Cork & Bottle (or maybe still is) and is reasonably recently reopened. Indeed, you would not know it as the exterior signage is for the former incarnation still. Inside it is a wedge shape with the bar counter following that shape and occupying the central portion of the inside space along its length. It is bare boarded on the entrance side of the wedge and patterned tiles on the end of both sides of the wedge, the right-hand side of the bar counter having the taps on the back wall, with no service or indeed bar counter on the left-hand side. There are stools along the operational side of the bar counter and all here on my 8pm Monday visit was occupying that space. The entrance sides of both sides of the wedge have regular tables and chairs, the chairs being of metal construction and painted orange. The end of the wedge on the left-hand side in the patterned floor tile area has some tall tables and a long communal dining table in front of the fire grate with a large TV showing Sky News housed on a fancy patterned wallpapered wall. The end of the wedge on the right-hand side in the patterned floor area had a nice leather sofa array in front of an equally unused fire grate with a mirror above and another TV showing the same Sky News coverage with no sound as that was provided in the entire venue by an 80's soundtrack. High ceiling with a stunning tiled coverage, indeed the most notable feature of the venue.

Moby Duck left this review about White Horse

Although apparently reverted back to the White Horse name I didn't notice any signage to that effect on a brief unscheduled stop, only noticing a Cork & Bottle pub sign still hanging outside.
A long wedge shaped corner pub appearing to be of Victorian vintage. The long stripped out room is divided by a long centrally placed bar, no sign of any handpumps, the place seems essentially to be a wine bar but did have around five very standard keg offerings.
Nothing of note to see here so my visit was brief.
