A rather grand looking building prominently placed, the interior furnishing is plush. An Island bar supports five handpumps offering three mainstream ales on my visit, these were Fullers London Pride, Black Sheep Bitter and Timothy Taylor Landlord which came in at £5.90 a pint and offered in decent condition. The pub was very busy on a Saturday afternoon, possibly due to exceptionally good spring weather, with a mainly thirty something age group.
A decent pub.

A very imposing building on the apex of two roads in a residential part of Canonbury and close to the New River. The interior has lots to offer with a traditional bar in front, a section on the right with traditional furniture and then a lower snug with bench seating in velour. To the left of the bar are a series of high tables leading to a rear former billiards room with a large sky light, these days it has the feel of a dining area and long flex lighting hangs down from the sky light.Lots of wood panelling all around the interior.
So far so good ,and there were 4 real ales available on my trip in Doom Bar,TT Landlord,St Austell Tribute and New River London Tap (musty,or is that the brewers intent, unpleasant NBSS 1.5) .No longer a Young's house, now owned by Punch. The pub was very quiet ,maybe no one cares too much.Good looking pub,but bad pub experience.

Imposing Young's pub with their usual ale selection. One room with bar in the centre. Seats out front and a beer garden to the rear, with a giraffe in its midst. Not a real one, I hasten to add!
