Renamed Meltdown in 2013, this was indeed the Prince of Wales. Unfortunately, the mosaic floor by the entrance has been covered in steel chequer plate flooring to alert you to the 'cyberpunk' shenanigans that go in in this black-painted stripped out 'eSports' bar. Furniture comprises swivel chairs which look like something from Star Trek and drinkers - sorry geeks - sit glued to giant screens and play one another at various computer games; one was so realistic I thought it was the World Cup! The lavs are downstairs and are a little bit Trainspotting.
No real ale of course, so my first and last drink here was something crafty and cost £2.50 which is a lot and certainly a lot for this area.
I logged off and crossed the road to the far superior Kennedy's, opposite.

Popped in on the way down to KC after seeing it featured on the recent BBC series 'the secret history of London streets.'
Obviously been given a spruce up but still fundamentally the same pub as the review below, and still no real ale.
So not one that's going to make the North London GBG, but good community buzz on this early Friday Evening and the current Landlady definitely comes across as a diamond of The Cally'.
Well done love , and I wish you many successful years behind the bar before you have to go to the old people's home ( you have to watch the end of the program to get that one.)

Just a quick pint, then I'm off left this review about The Prince

Corner pub, formerly the Prince of Wales (as evidenced by the nice mosaic tiling at the main entrance). Opened out into one large room but entirely stripped inside apart from the bar at one end and a fireplace (on what looks like a former small stage) at the other. Sparsely furnished, with the plainest painted decor, giving a very bare feel. A few TVs showing sport in a desultory kind of way, plus a few benches outside. No handpumps, so it was a swift pint of (guess what?) John Smiths and I was off...
