Closed since 2006, I came here once as part of a group in late 1988. This area has changed enormously in the last 30 years and is now considerably more affluent. Back then, this pub was a bit unnerving and I wouldn't have felt entirely welcome, save for the fact that my mate's girlfriend was the landlord's daughter. There was a pool table to the right front and an island bar so far as I can recall at a time when I was probably on the lager.
There was a lock-in, with the curtains drawn and I can't remember what time we left.
Ah well...
