This is a Victorian pub which was a Firkin pub briefly sentenced to be a branch of O'Neils before returning to its original name in the 2000s. Still Young's and far from being their best. This is almost more like an upmarket 'spoons than the traditional pub it once was.
Lots of bare brick with TVs showing ice hockey at a deafening level to a crowd that is clearly a follower of this minority sport.
Ales: Young's standard line-up and not at its best form.
There are far better pubs over the border in Farringdon so I shan't be returning.

Modern Youngs outlet with, as stated below, little of their usual branding. A triangular open plan room with a battleship grey, aquamarine and white paint job plus two undressed brick walls. Loud music, dim lighting and suits. Four pumps; Youngs Special, Bitter (pretty good nick), Truman Blind Side and Westons Rosies Pig. 2 quid for my half. Craft beer pushed heavily, five pumps at the bar rear with a large amount of London-centric bottled stuff displayed in purpose-built shelving. A workaday bar but I’ve been in much worse examples.
