Just a quick pint, then I'm off left this review about The Jamaica Wine House
Hidden away in a side alley, this historic tavern is located on the site of the oldest coffee house in London. There is plenty of interest in the various wood-panelled seating and standing areas around the bar. Always very busy during the post-work rush, with most customers standing outside unless it is raining. About a dozen handpumps can be found in three banks along different parts of the counter, usually with a good range of regular and seasonal Shepherd Neame beers available. Master Brew, Whitstable Bay Pale, Spitfire, Late Red, Bishops Finger and the seasonal Christmas Ale (£6.60) available on my latest visit (which was the best selection I've seen here for a while).

Worth it for the history - which is well documented on line. Unusual sandstone construction.
Shepherds Neame house that had run out of pies. How bad can your day get?
Worth a visit for the history. Not everyday you can drink in a such an institution.

Brainy Pool left this review about The Jamaica Wine House
Wood panelled hidden city boozer designed mostly for vertical drinking of course. It’s a classic of course but I do have to withdraw some of my goodwill due to a thudding pop music playlist and clips of unavailable beer not being turned around. Otherwise a pleasant afternoon pint and the Spitfire is in good nick here.
