The Wren has been demolished, along with other places in the food court, to make way for a new development within the station concourse. Thankfully that development includes a new pub, The Merchant of Bishopsgate, which has opened nearby.

What a place! I brought my girlfriend here for her birthday. The atmosphere was great, bar staff were friendly. The missus had one of the best nights of her life. We drank, we danced, we laughed, we smoked 60 fags between us and she necked 6 pints of stella and 3 bottles of magners before we stumbled out and got ourselves a couple of Double Whoppers in Burger King next door. Long live The Wren!

what a great pub....def the best in liverpool st station. i've been there a few times now and always enjoyed the experience. the friendly eastern european bar staff are a hoot...don't be fooled by their seemingly gormless expressions and pigeon english...they can give some good banter. bite discount cards are also excepted, meaning that you can have a good time, whilst looking after those pennies. no better place to start or end a night.
