Strongers . left this review about Three Compasses
The Three Compasses has a worn wooden floor and high tables that run up the left wall to the serving counter and then a kitchenette in the left rear corner, there was a strong smell of old fat. Up the centre are more high tables to several supporting columns in a strange arrangement which led me to believe this place has been knocked through at some point. Standard tables run up the right-hand wall to the rear where there’s open plan seating. There are two televisions, front and rear, that were airing muted Champions League highlights via TNT Sports. On the counter are two hand pumps, one of which was in use drawing Harveys Best, and Kronenbourg alongside a premium and mainstream craft keg range. Upstairs is a French restaurant called Bouchine Racine, there is an affiliation of some sort between the pub and restaurant. The service was polite, but it was very dimly lit and a tad depressing, so when the builders working upstairs set off the fire alarm I decided to drink up and leave.

Rather gloomy place, I sat in the window to get the benefit of what little daylight there was on this gloomy day in London. My half of Harvey's Sussex Best had maybe caught the mood, or maybe my taste buds have moved on permanently from this type of best bitter. I gave it a rare (for me) NBSS 2. The other beer was Landlord, which I make a point of not drinking in London. There are better pubs around here. And better beers, too.

Decent enough pub close to the station. I prefer the Castle but if you have the time to do 2 pubs you may as well do both!
