Walking along North End Road you are reminded how multicultural this area is,there's all manner of food shops and cuisines on offer, but a trip into The Goose is to go back 60 years to when Fulham was a white working class mono culture. The large interior with high ceiling is L shaped with lots of high tables at the front, gaming machines, large flatscreens everywhere, all thankfully mute on my lunchtime visit with one screening the racing and seating booths to the side.At the front a computer darts game, beyond the bar a real darts board in a recess before the most pleasant rear section with an attractive fireplace,a red leather banquette before doors to a brick enclosed beer patio.
Gentle muzak helped ,there are signs for DJ's and live music on certain nights. The three handpumps were offering TT Landlord,St Austell Tribute (NBSs 3) and London Pride reversed .The keg selection looked mundane but this pub is a survivor, lots more have been lost or converted to other uses. It's hobsons choice in this part of Fulham.

This was my sole venture into SW6 on the evening to replace the planned visit to the Old Oak! It is indeed a large pub, busy on my visit around 7pm. Not much to add to the physical description below other than noting after the rain has seemingly abated the outside space at the back was also popular. It is quite classy with all the booths, leather backed banquettes and good quality furniture inside generally for a pub of its type. Whilst the music was decent as a playlist is was turned up way too loud and so drowned out the chatter in the pub. Also the ambiance is degraded by what feels like oversized games machines dotted around the interior - indeed they would look effing huge and oppressive to the extreme on a smaller venue with lower ceilings.
Beer wise there were three hand pumps one kicking out TT Landlord (have been seeing a lot of it of late) and a St Austell beer called Beatrix’s plus one turned round clip that was Tribute. I had a pint of the Beatrix’s, which was comprehensively off (Sarsons anyone). There were a lot of taps offering lager upon lager upon lager (can’t be asked to list), a couple of big standard ciders, Guinness, John Smiths (compulsory in a venue that shows evening racing), Neck Oil and the standard Brixton offerings.
Had hoped this would have been a bit better but when do you ever get good or great in pubs this size. Right back to the more reliable W14 and some chips and salt needed to go with my vinegar!

A large street corner pub with everything on a grand scale. The woman behind the bar was the licensee, I guessed, from the way she spoke about the pub. She'd seen me taking some photos and apologised for the state of the place, saying it has been due a refurbishment for some time. But I was impressed by the gold-painted capitals on the pillars (see photos); less so by the rugby tat mentioned by the previous reviewer. This was my first pub of the morning, so I had a coffee rather than a beer. I did note Doom Bar and Rebellion Smuggler as the two beers available, with other hand pumps artfully hidden behind a notice about food allergies.
