This place has been various things, once called Cahoots, then the Album Bar and Kitchen. Now refurbished yet again and promisingly called the Markham Inn. But go there hoping for anything resembling an inn and your hopes will be sorely dashed. It is very much a brasserie style restaurant and you'll be lucky to get to the bar without being stopped by someone asking you if you've booked and wanting to show you to a table. Done out in dark wood and with banquette seating it is all very tasteful and yes you can just have a drink - but there's no draught beer and a small bottle of Heineken will cost you an astonishing £3. You are unlikely to want to linger.
