As Aqualung states, an early 'outside of London' Wetherspoons venue located on High Wycombe 's High Street, partially hidden from view on market days. I remember first setting foot in here with a mate in the late 90s, where he was told after sparking up, that patrons were not allowed to smoke at the bar. It's a perfectly perfunctory Spoons: large undulating bar to the left, with the rotating ales towards the far end. Seating to the right and beyond as far as the eye can see, with some patio seating outside to the right, with stunning views of the Octagon Shopping Centre. They usually get some local ales in here – think Rebellion, Tring, Hook Norton, etc. and I had a Twickenham Red Ale (Red Sky) for £2.59 with my Camra 50p voucher, which was in superb shape (NBSS 4). The usual Spoons gripe – not enough staff serving, tables uncleared, dirty glassware stacked up by the bar, but at least people were queueing around the bar, not up to it.

Adequately described below, I found this to be a typical JDW with a slightly lower-than-average IQ among the locals. There was a large group of large females screaming in the outside patio area and what appeared to be a group of young males too stupid even to wear a hat in the comfy seating section. The three stock ales, Doombar, Ruddles and Abbot, were hidden away behind a pillar while the guests were more obvious – Hullabaloo, Bamboozle and Forbury Lion from Lodden, Rebellion’s Roasted Nuts, Steam Box Tunnel Vision and Hipster Min from Adnams. A safe bet in this part of the world.

Just a quick pint, then I'm off left this review about The Falcon (JD Wetherspoon)
Superficially attractive 'spoons, beside the Guildhall and housed in a venerable pub building. However, the interior has been partially opened out and given the full semi-traditional makeover that somehow seems out of keeping (although this may be because the ceiling appears to have been lowered at some stage). Also has a fair amount of patio seating to one side. Fair selection of real ales from a total of nine handpumps, including a couple from Red Squirrel - Hopfest and Mr Squirrel (£2.15) - and one each from Loddon, West Berkshire and Windsor & Eton.
