Just a quick pint, then I'm off left this review about TCR Lounge Bar

The former Bar @ TCR has re-branded itself as the TCR Lounge Bar. Modern furniture, partly laid up for dining. Sparse decor, with a few music TVs. A few pavement tables out front and a much bigger rear patio area. A solitary handpump on the counter, offering an overpriced pint of Doom Bar (£4.00).

This is a student type bar offering standard and premium lagers in an atmosphere of loud music and chatter. There are a couple of plasma screens that were showing the videos to the aforementioned music and there is a large projector screen on the back window that was showing a muted BBC News 24 feed.

I had a pint of Guinness which was ok, although it was served in a Kronenburg glass, which was the first that came to the barmaid's grasp. I knocked my pint back in the smoking area which is a table and chair at the top of the fire escape stairs at the rear of the building.

This is probably an ok place to go if you are a student, but those days are long gone for me now, so I'll not be returning.

Used to be called Ye Olde Surgeon. Had skeletons and surgical instruments around the walls. Has stopped selling real ale. rating has gone down.
