I used to go to the Wheel every other Saturday night after watching the mighty Bees and then sinking a few in the New Inn. Until my lunchtime drink last week I'd not been for about 12 years and apart from a few wall partitions being put in and glass doors at the front it is much the same as I remember.

There are 2 bars (one upstairs and one downstairs), 2 big screens and 2 plasma screens. The barman was surly and it took a lot of effort to get more than a grunt out of him. There is a very limited lager selection and no real ale, but plenty of Guinness.

I wouldn't bother going here just for a drink, but if any sport is on I'd imagine it being great. Also, if the Friday and Saturday nights are anything like they used to be they are well worth the trip.
