Visited on 02/02/26. Visited previously as Simmons on 27/03/23 and previous Jeremy Bentham incarnation on 29/01/2018.
No cask. Keg offering of Murphy's Irish Stout, Tennent's lager, Hawkstone session lager and their cider, the Keller Pils and the Wanna Go to the Sun pale ale both from Lost & Grounded.
Certain this is the first time i have ticked a venue as X, then Y before reverting to X again, albeit the second X is under different ownership than the first X! When I started recording venues on iPhone notes at the start of 2018, this was one of the first pubs I ticked and so well before I started taking photos and writing reviews on PG. It is an attractive corner location near University College hospital. Some outside seating but inside it is a herringbone patterned block wood floor with a small chessboard ceramic tile skirt around the bar counter. Seating mostly via studded leather banquettes around the perimeter serving small regular tables with regular chairs the other side thereof. There are a couple of tall tables with tall unbacked stools in the space between entrance and bar counter which is against the rear wall to the left-hand side of the venue. A couple of screens showing recorded sports action absent commentary, sound provided by a mind infusing instrumental soundtrack. There is an upstairs function room but otherwise this is a typical, small, corner boozer you oft see in this part of Central London.

Just a quick pint, then I'm off left this review about Simmons
What would Jeremy Bentham say, with the traditional pub once named after him now a Simmons bar? Although the layout is the same, a few decorative features survive (such as the chequerboard tiling along the bar counter) and the younger UCL / UCLH client base seems little changed. However, the real ale has all gone and replaced with cocktails and an unimaginative range of bottled offerings. A few keg beers are also available, e.g. Camden Hells and Pale (£5.10). Such a shame, since this was a decent place in its day, and my rating is reduced by three from my previous visit some eight years ago.

Tris C left this review about The Jeremy Bentham
Originally The Lord Wellington this pub was renamed in 1982 after the 18th-19th century philosopher, whose mummy is stuffed in a box at neighbouring UCL, this is an oasis of calm after the horror of Mabel's Tavern across the road - this is about the quietest pub I've ever been in; ghostly quiet and with hardly any seating, no TV, no music, no real décor resulting in no real atmosphere. Food is of the burger, sausage, fish and chips school. There's a tiled bar apron and herringbone parquet floor. People in here seemed to be fairly young and perhaps were UCHL medical practitioners.
Ales on: Moreland's Original Bitter, Greene King's IPA, Hardy & Hanson's [Greene King] Kimberley Bitter and Olde Trip at £2.10 a half - OK and cheap for the area.
I don't really think I'll come here again as there are better pubs to the west of Tottenham Court Road.
