A great looking large terraced Georgian styled pub, restuarant and hotel (yes, it does sccommodation). There is a patio at front and garden at the rear. The pub is in white, with olive greeny paintwork, smart sash windows and the new roof doesn't look out of place. The interior had a few rooms. The dining area was closed, so i didn't see that. The L-shaped bar was off to the right and quite loud and busy, so i opted for the quieter lounge. The music was quieter here and the TV not on. The decor is purple based, with some white and a white ceiling. The floor is a stone, wood and carpet mix. Theer is a small fireplace, but little in the way of pictures and things. The chairs are comfy leather stuff, with some perimeter seating. The serice was fine and a few locals seemed to be in the lounge while the young un's were in the bar (it was a Friday night). Beer; usual stuff with GK IPA, Spekky Hen and Ruddles Best on handpull. Not my favourite choice, but the Spekky was fine. All in all, lively and it has real ale - worth a pop in. I believe the place may have been taken over since this review was written.
