Quite a large pub with two sets of steps up to the main room. Bar to the left hand side with a couple of weakish real ale pumps.

A large detached family corner pub and eatery owned by the Greene King chain, with patio and side area for beer garden and kid's play area - this is served by the extension building which drops down to the garden. The building is Edwardian looking, in red brick with moulded stone door, windows and string-courses. The main building has a number of projecting windows and gable ends. It looks really good.
The interior is a bit in the Spoons model. The long wood bar faces you on entry but the room is one big open plan one, with a pool table part way down. It is in the standard mix of colours; browns, clay, cream, and so on, with a cream ceiling, grey cornice and part carpet, part wood floor. There is a small tiled fireplace and old photos and mirrors on the walls. As like a Spoons, it is populated by food tables - i didn't eat here so i can't comment on that, but the holidaymaker clientele were lapping-up the budget menu. The service was fine and there were silent TVs, with the news on and the music was charty, but at a decent level.
Beer; usual tap stuff with M&B keg MILD. On handpull there were Greene King IPA and a passable Cameron's Strongarm.
Another generic foody family place in Skeggy. You know what you can expect.
