Just a quick pint, then I'm off left this review about The Witch & Wardrobe

Water-side Marston's pub, but not really sure how old it is, but it's certainly been modernised inside. Anyway, on a Friday evening, it was full and loud with a generally younger crowd in. Cask Ale is thankfully available too, in the form of Pedigree, Wainwright (Gold) and Hobgoblin Ruby (£4.75).

This is pretty much the closest real pub to the station, with an idyllic riverside location.
It was absolutely packed at the time of my 1st November visit at just gone 8.00pm, with young Hallowe’en obsessives and as I couldn’t get to the bar, decided that with 20 minutes to go before my train’s departure, I should cut my losses and leave.

Lovely waterside setting for this Marstons pub, a mix of decor styles but generally older in feel. The beers are Carlsberg’s cask from the former Marstons stable, all very average possibly brewery conditioned and reseeded or “fresh ale” either way not brilliant. Nice enough place with friendly staff. A bit of the old multiple room layout is evident but it’s a wee bit too modernised to have much charm. Can’t fault the staff though.
