A large formerly multi-roomed pub, probably early 20th century, now with a long central bar opposite the entrance. The games room to the left has some nice wood panelling and fireplace, and there's a big room at the back with a catering counter. The remainder of the pub has several screens showing sports. There are four hand pumps on the bar counter, with Doom Bar turned around leaving Wainwright Amber as the only cask beer, but this was in very good condition (NBSS 3.5). It was quite busy here mid-afternoon on a Wednesday, and this must have had something to do with the friendly welcome and the general atmosphere - the lass who works here was called away to sort out a problem with one of the TVs when I was waiting for my beer to be topped up, but she dealt with all customers with the same ease and friendliness.

custodian 42 left this review about Stags Head
Big pub with the bar in the middle. Space to left, front and right and a food area to the rear. Four hand pumps, one of which was serving weak ale. Opens at 4pm on weekdays and shut on Monday.
