A horribly modernised place, clearly chasing a demographic that didn't include me. Look at the couple of wall taps behind to try and find something marginally more interesting than the Neck Oil and mainstream rubbish on the bar, but it's all very overpriced anyway. Not somewhere I would bother returning to.

Calling itself a craft bar, this is a keg only venue with the regular global brewers represented by Guinness, Birra Moretti, Cruzcampo and the like. I asked the lass behind the bar what craft beers they had, and she pointed to Beavertown Neck Oil. No, I said, that's not craft, it's made by a multinational brewing giant. She indicated towards the back bar, where there is a small row of taps with beers denoted as "top of the hops", including Corona (yes, really) plus Tiny Rebel, Brew Dog and Brixton. I went for Easy Livin from Tiny Rebel, a cold, fizzy and lemon flavoured concoction at only £3.10 for a half. I tried to drink it, I really did, but it was so cold, fizzy and lemony I could only manage half of my half and left the glass on the table.

The Prince of Wales has high tables in the front left window and a bar counter that runs up the left-hand wall. There’s a carpeted seating area in the front right corner and a stone doorway at the rear leads to more seating and an outside area. Televisions are located throughout for airing live football. Premium and craft keg was available and the three hand pumps were drawing TT Boltmaker and Landlord alongside Lilley’s Mango Cider. The barman was friendly, but there are better pubs in the area so I’ll probably not return.
