Situated in the village of Timberland, the pub has a bit of a community feel to it. Even as I arrived, the local mobile post office service was parked up in the pub car park.

As with the Ship Inn down the road in Billinghay, the cask ale range was restricted to just XB with Neck Oil on keg. A Landlord clip was turned round, with a third handpull sporting some paper towels. Strongbow & Strongbow Dark Fruit were the ciders. The cocktail range is listed on the till.

The pub consists of one large room with stone walls. There is a pool table opposite the bar with a dartboard at one end of the pub. TVs were showing the Cheltenham festival with music once again competing for attention. It was another din, especially when the phone started ringing loudly too.

My visit seemed to coincide between meal service times. So, I'm not sure how busy it gets with diners, but there was a distinct smell of fish in the pub. BT Guest Wifi is available. Dogs are allowed and whilst I'm not sure if children are allowed, there was one outdoors in the pleasant patio areas which can be found to the side and rear of the pub.
