Reading the reviews below I thought this might have been a different pub, it's still an interesting building but the beer range has suffered from the dead hand of a PubCo. Just Doombore and a decent Everards Sunchaser on sale in the lower bar and the upstairs restaurant, plus a "real" cider in the form of Old Rosie.

A large detached riverside pub and restuarant, which have separate entrances. The building claims to originate in the 16th century and there is a Tudor look (although a little fakey), in the white and beam, brick and stone exterior. There is patio area. The interior has a couple of rooms. The restaurant is upstairs and is in coffee and wood panel, with a wood floor. It has its own serving bar. Downstairs is the Waterside Bar. It is in white and wood panel, white and beam ceiling and a stone flag floor. Old tuns are used as tables and there are some old photographs are on the walls. The service was fine and the clietele in the bar seemed local - we did eat upstairs - the food was fine, but there was nobody else in. Beer; usual stuff with Mr Grundy's Brewery Passchendaele, Milestone Brewery's Fletcher Ale, Loxley Ale and a few others i can no longer read as Mrs Soup accidently subjected the notes to a washing machine experience). I found the Waterside Bar a great place and would happily return to it - only go upstairs if dining though.
