This is the bar of the Avenue Hotel which is basic and feels like a hotel bar, but it does have its own entrance up the left-hand side of the building. The serving counter is on the right-hand wall towards the front where it faces a row of high tables. Standard seating is found towards the rear where a projector screen hangs on the wall to show the advertised TNT Sport. My visit was early on a recent Tuesday evening when there was no football so a television behind the counter was supplying some background noise via a music channel. There’s also a dartboard on the left-hand wall next to the entrance. Standard and premium keg were available alongside Neck Oil and hot food is available. The only other customer was a hotel guest who was in for dinner. The service was polite, but there are proper pubs in the area so I’m not sure why any local inhabitants would use this place.
