Large dark painted corner pub on a busy road junction, internally it’s U shaped in brown tongue and groove and cream walls. The U shaped counter takes up a central length of the left side with a mix of seating all round. There’s a screen at each end plus a couple more dotted about and a few mirrors and pictures as decoration. There is a fair amount of other “stuff” around the place including in the front bay windows, on the stage at the back is the drum kit mentioned before and elsewhere a couple of old wall mounted telephones, WhatPub says there’s a telephone exchange on the premises but WP says there’s only three cask beers.
The interesting wooden counter has a set of eight old hand pumps with six in use as stated on the outside signage, Woodfordes, Bass, Grainstore, Castle Rock, Taylors and Batemans being represented, my Batemans Dark M was in very good nick. Lots of fairly mundane kegs available on three quad T-Bars plus five solos, there’s also a Jagermeister dispenser and a pork scratchings box. The toilets are behind a fake bookcase in the back corner. Down to earth bouncy place.

The entrance of the Nobody Inn opens onto a cosy wooden floored front seating area to the left with small stools and a retro gaming table. A couple of steps lead up the bar where the serving counter runs up the left facing high tables up the right-hand windows. There are some high tables at the rear and a couple of steps lead down to the dart area in the left rear where access can be gained to the toilets which are found upstairs. Good luck figuring out if the mirror or the bookcase are the actual toilet doors. There are televisions throughout so I expect that football is shown when available, but during my recent Tuesday early evening visit there was just some background music. I counted eight hand pumps on the counter that were drawing Bateman’s Dark M and January S’ales, Castle Rock’s Harvest Pale, TT Boltmaker and Shipstone’s Gold Star. All the ales, apart from the TT, were priced at £3.50 a pint so I went for the very decent Gold Star. I found the service to be friendly and the locals all seemed harmless enough, so I’d make a point of revisiting if in the area again.

At the top end of town, this is the real ale pub of Grantham.Split level interior with a lower snug, the bar up a couple of steps with a stage at the far end with some even higher tables. It's all very trad, clean with gleaming handpumps and a rear side snug. The bookcase entrance to the loos confuses strangers, dont try and enter the very low faux door, just push the bookcase. The pub is also know for their live music, the drum kit on display is impressive.
The selection on my visit was Doom Bar,Castle Rock Harvest Pale,TT Landlord and Havercake and Newby Wyke USS Winston S Churchill (NBSS 4.5,a great IPA).My colleagues complimented the condition of the other ales.
Very sold real ale house, dont miss out when visiting Grantham.
