It is indeed a nice little pub as K found three years ago. We were the only punters on a very wet and unseasonably chilly afternoon, but still elected to sit in the large tent in the car park. Pumps badged for Seafarer and Pride. The former promptly went off the second I ordered it and I don't care for the latter, so stuck to eurofizz. This being Fullers, pricing was ambitious.

In from the car park, sanitiser, sign in, order at the bar, out the front and round to get to the outside seating, there's a big garden as well as the aforementioned tent.

It a pleasant enough spot and a handy pit stop along this stretch of road.

A two-room pub in the drive-through village of Whitchurch which is now the only pub left in the village and under the aegis of Fuller's. Separate from each other and accessed via two separate doors, the door in front leads into a smallish square, dark-boarded wooden floored room served by a bar offering London Pride, Seafarers and St Austell Trelawny as well as Cornish Orchard Blush for the pomme-têtes, a selection of sporting photos and trophies adorn shelves to the right and there's only a couple of tables available to plonk down on. The left-hand room is narrow, rectangular and thickly carpeted with upholstered bench seating and two standard tables and chairs in front of this to the right before the bar; three taller tables and chairs to the left opposite a smaller bar counter top right with patterned bar apron and some nice (albeit painted khaki green) wood panelling. There's a crooked area which faces you as you enter this room where seating has been improvised either side of a small fireplace and some old photographs of the pub are further, cosier touches. A generous beer garden out back also looks to be a good bet on a nice day. I liked this place - a no-nonsense pub grub menu and home-cooking smell made this a welcoming, homely place which has transitioned well into the 21st century. My only gripes were the 'Now Compilation' style music where the hubbub of conversation would have suited better, and the limited ale selection - my Seafarers deteriorated as I got through it, indicating it might have been sitting in the lines for while. I'll let them off though.
