It was worth the effort to find a parking spot for my hire car - this is a back street pub to the east of the town centre, with its own very small car park. Six hand pumps grouped on the bar which faces the front of the pub, but the front door is no longer used, entry being via an extension to the left of the original building. The front room has some nice furniture, plus a group of arm chairs clustered around the fireplace at the far end. The back room has been enlarged, and just as well given the size of the screen showing sports. Tucked away is a handsome sideboard with trophies stacked on it, and framed newspaper front pages from the second world war on the wall above. My pint of Bateman's XB was pretty good (NBSS 3.5, £4), and if I ever find myself in Bourne again I'll definitely call in.

The Anchor Inn is a stand alone pub that is situated away from the middle of Bourne.
Once inside there was a narrow lounge to the front which was carpeted and also empty, the bar to the rear was a larger L shaped room, this room was carpeted and had a pool table and darts board to the left, the seating was normal tables and chairs.
There is a small outside paved area which overlooks Bourne Beu,this looked more like a large dyke to me.
There was one real ale on the bar, which was Marstons EPA this was a nice drink.
This is a fairly basic pub that seemed to be quite popular with the locals.
