Known locally at The Nap ,this free house has reopened recently, with colourful hanging baskets outside which proved to be the high point. There are two sections, left to the public bar, right to the lounge with both served from a small island bar.The lounge is L shaped and has fabric covered benches but is dominated by a large sports flatscreen with the volume turned right up .There is a step down around the bar to the public which is a larger space with a pool table, modern darts board, another sports flatscreen and fruit and quiz machines. The muzak was an awful selection of ballards and this too was played far too loud, trying to create an atmosphere in a largely empty pub.
The two handpumps stood unused, the only draft beers were Guiness,Carling with Strongbow and a derivative as the cider options. The fridge has some bottles of Bishops Finger and some other dull lagers while the Staropramen tap ,although illuminated didn't have a keg attached.
Social media indicated that the owner wanted to introduce decent ale and craft beers, but the reality on my trip was a contender for the worst pub in Lincolnshire.
Other customers appeared to be friends and family of the barman. This place is the reason so many community locals fail and I don't know how long this free house will last.Don't bother.

Plans have been submitted to partially convert the Napoleon to accommodation. However, the redevelopment will also include a new micro-pub, on site.
