Work on converting a former pub into a supermarket is under way.
The Sainsbury's store in the former Royal Oak, in Leicester Road, Wigston, is expected to employ between 20 and 25 part-time staff.
Existing development rights meant the company did not need to apply for permission to seek a change of use.

Large and comfortable place with an enormous bay window. No cask ale the times I visited.
