Aqualung . left this review about The Three Crowns
This pub reverted to it's original name when taken over by Steamin' Billy at the end of 2013. Inside it remains a single L shaped room with wooden floors. There is all sorts of bric-a-brac everywhere you look. It's a fairly basic sort of place but pleasant enough.
The four hand pumps had just three Steamin' Billy beers with one of them not used. These were 1485, Tipsy Fisherman and Bitter. I went for the 1485 (£3.40) which was in good nick.
It's GBG 2016 listed but while I quite liked it I didn't think it was all that exceptional.

Alan Winfield left this review about The Griffin
The Griffin is a solid looking corner pub that is in a quiet area but close to the shops.
Once inside the pub has been done up in a modern style which has completley ruined it in my opinion, there is a single L shaped room with the bar facing, there was a pool table to the rear left, plus a dart board to the far right which was down a step in its own area.
The seating was leather settees to the left and normal tables and chairs elsewhere.
There were no real ales on the bar,the keg option was John Smiths smooth crap which it was.
The pub was empty on our Saturday dinner visit which did'nt surprise me,this was a very dissapointing pub.
