Set back from the road a bit and easy to miss, the multi-level interior is a bit soulless but the pub has been recently taken over so I’m guessing it has had a bit of emergency work done that needs to bed in a bit. Despite not technically being open, the landlady liked the sound of our ‘all the pubs in Rutland’ challenge and let us in for an off-radar beer, which was very kind. Pleased to see some traditional pub games in the form of bar billiards and bar skittles. Three pumps with one on, Grainstore Tenfifty, which was in decent nick. Hard to mark given the circumstances, but the generosity and bar games mean that I’ll be liberal!
