Uppingham’s ‘whacky’ pub, situated off the main drag down a side-street. Set over three rooms - one is a crazy pool/disco thing and another is an end-of-pier amusement arcade with air hockey and a boxing machine. One ale at the bar, Grainstore Osprey, dire and taken back. Friendly if not overly competent barmaid, got some flannel about it being a fresh barrel - yeah right you are, a fresh barrel of Sarsons perhaps. Ended-up with a Guinness instead. Desmond’s lemonade was so awful it was poured away. One other a customer, a friendly if seasoned soap-dodger. On the positive side, I won’t forget this place in a hurry. 2.5
