Quinno _ left this review about The Royalist

Early 60s estate pub, a mish-mash of refurb but in good order despite the less-than-enticing yellow and grey colours. Friendly old skool. guv'nor. Mildly surprised to see three ales on given the location - Otter, Abbot and TTL (NBSS 3). Well done the owner for trying to give the locals something a bit better than the usual in this sort of locale.

Old Boots left this review about The Royalist

Classic estate pub albeit with a pitched roof, a large front bar and a smaller sports bar at the back. Normal type of community pub but I didn’t come across any neds on my lunchtime visit just a lot of pensioners enjoying lunch and a quiz. Beer choice on the three pulls in each bar was Abbot, a drinkable Landlord and Otter Ale, otherwise a standard lager, Guinness and cider line up with only Leffe being of note. The sports bar has screens and a pool table, behind it is an outdoor tent covered area with table football. Serves its community well I’m sure but not really worth walking out to.

Just a quick pint, then I'm off left this review about The Royalist

1960s estate pub overlooking Bureford Green recreation ground, with a curiously spectral pub sign. Well presented in an unfussy way within, and the interior has an unspoilt look as it retains separate public and lounge bars. Landlord (£4.90) and Hobgoblin Original IPA clips on two of the handpumps, with a Robinson's Trooper clip on the third.
