Alan Winfield left this review about The Old Red Lion
The Old Red Lion is a fairly large pub that is in the small hamlet of Welham.
The front door to this pub is closed so the main entrance is at the side next to the car park.
We had problems getting into the pub because of all the very old people trying to either get in or out of the pub, once inside there was a large corridor the main drinking and dining room is to the right, the bar was to the right in this fairly large room, there was also another small room off the main room.
There was a wood floor and leather settes and leather chairs and normal tables, the pub was packed on our dinner time visit and i felt very young here as most people were well over 70 and all were dining.
There were two real ales on the bar i had a drink of Greene King IPA and this was a decent enough drink the other beer was Old Speckled Hen.
We sat at the bar with our drinks and both commented that this pub looked like it was still in the 70s.
