Just a quick pint, then I'm off left this review about White Hart

This 'Pub | Kitchen | Garden' was less busy than on my last visit some 18 months ago, so I was able to take things in a bit more this time. The interior has a smart semi-traditional look, with some round copper-topped tables and plenty of dark wood. Food is obviously important here, but the beer choice and quality is exactly as you would hope to find in a Good Beer Guide listed pub. This time, the regular Landlord and Charnwood duo of Salvation and Vixen were supplemented by a pair from Leatherbritches - a tasty Porter (£2.60, half) and the White Castle session pale ale - and Farm Yard's Sheaf.

I only had time for quick visit here, after meeting some friends in the Three Nuns and staying longer than I had planned. This is a strange pub, with an off-putting experior, blaring PUB/KITCHEN/GARDEN in white letters on a blue background, but inside it's a little more subtle (see photos). There was a little more eating than drinking going on towards the end of Friday's extended lunch hour, so I was a little wary of what the cask beers might be like. Six hand pumps on the bar had two beers each from Leatherbritches and Charnwood, plus Landlord and one from Farm Yard, a brewery near Cockerham in Lancashire. I'm a big fan of the first named of those breweries, and their 5% Porter was very good (NBSS 4, £5.20/pint). This pub is in the current Good Beer Guide, while its next door neighbour is not. If I lived nearer to Loughborough than a £20 discounted day return, I would be happy to call again very often and check out more of the beers in both pubs.

Remains la-di-da. The place was a bit brighter this time (better weather helps!) and my beer was also much improved, a good half of <unrecorded beer> (NBSS 3.5). I think there may have been fewer on than last time?

Looks very la-de-dah from the outside and the inside follows-through. A surprisingly substantial interior, a large open plan main room leading to a garden out back. Varnished wood floor, blue and green walls, some nice (if modern) woodwork, copper topped tables with a couple of leatherette banquettes and a lot of tables set for dining. Downside was an intense gloominess, so much so I decamped to the sizeable rear garden. Six cask pumps all dispensing with a variety of breweries if rather samey style-wise, served-up by a polite and friendly barmaid. My Parkway Giggle was pump tired and a bit flabby but ostensibly fine (NBSS 2.5) - too many on. GBG’22 listed. Rated 6.5
